Valencia Old Town<\/h3>\n

It goes without saying that the old town of Valencia should be a stop on your tour of the city. As well as seeing the Quart and Serranos Towers (Torres de Serranos y Quart) and Plaza de la Almoina (as previously mentioned), make sure you don\u2019t miss the other architectural masterpieces on offer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

These include the cathedral<\/a>, the Northern Railway Station<\/a> (Estaci\u00f3n del Norte), Micalet\/Miguelete tower<\/a>, the bullring<\/a> (plaza de toros), the Silk Market<\/a> (Lonja de la Seda), the main square<\/a> (Plaza del Ayuntamiento), the central market<\/a> (Mercado Central), or the district of Ruzafa<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Discover Valencia’s wildlife<\/h3>\n

Paella, a widely recognised dish worldwide, has certainly grown popular with people from all walks of life, but without a doubt, Valencian paella <\/a>remains distinct from the rest.<\/p>\n

One of the key ingredients used to be marsh rat, a local species found in the Albufera area.<\/p>\n

Thankfully, this now protected species doesn\u2019t appear in the renowned dish nowadays, and you will find chicken and rabbit as the main components of the dish instead.<\/p>\n

Despite this recipe being the traditional and historical one, you will also come across seafood paella in most restaurants in Valencia.<\/p>\n

We recommend the seaside restaurants of Llevant<\/a> or Casa Carmela<\/a> if you are wanting to try a proper paella, not just a bit of rice mixed with other bits and bobs.<\/p>\n

It is tradition on Sundays to go to one of the many restaurants in El Palmar. It is a small fishing village, located in the centre of La Albufera.<\/p>\n

Here, you can discover the old fishermen\u2019s houses and farmhouses.<\/p>\n

Regardless of the fact that paella is the most popular dish, we can\u2019t forget the traditional Valencian snack, \u201corxata<\/a>\u201d, which consists of a tigernut-based drink, which is normally accompanied by a pastry, locally known as \u201cfartons<\/a>\u201d.<\/p>\n

Anyone that comes to Valencia, has to try the local alcoholic drinks we have on offer.<\/p>\n

These include cazalla<\/a> (a liqueur), mistela<\/a> (a dessert wine), Cremaet<\/a> (a coffee with sugar, lemon, rum, and cinnamon), and Agua de Valencia<\/a> (a cocktail made with cava, orange juice, vodka, and gin).<\/p>\n

The cocktail is a must-have, as it includes one of Valencia\u2019s finest produce, oranges!<\/p>\n
